Code of Conduct

The following is a summary of rules, regulations and tenets of Celestial Church of Christ.

Members are forbidden to:

Commit adultery or fornication.
Drink alcohol or wine, or smoke cigarettes.
Eat pork and crawling animals.
Play merry-go-round at night.
Wear transparent dress, especially soutana while on the church premises.
Wear red or black apparel, except for professional reasons.
Sit male and female members side by side inside the church.

Spiritual Code of Conduct

Upon entering the church, especially during services, remember that you are in the House of God (1 Tim. 3:15). Reverence and good manners are required so as not to disturb those engaged in prayer and worship, and as an expression of sincere fear, faith and awareness of the presence of God.
Be properly and appropriately dressed, with all buttons secured, before coming into the sanctuary.
Do not wear transparent or tight regalia (sutana) to church. Appropriate and respectful clothing should be worn at all times as an expression of reverence and holiness (Psalm 96:9; 1 Peter 1:15-17).
The altar:
- No male who has not yet been anointed is allowed into the altar.
- No female shall go beyond the threshold close to the altar or touch sacred items such as the sanctification water vessel, incenser or cross in the altar.
Women who are still in their flow must undergo sanctification on the eighth day from the commencement of their cycle. If the flow exceeds seven days, add one day after it ends before coming to church for sanctification, and keep away from the church environment for seven clear days.
Parents should keep children effectively under control during services. No child should run up and down the sanctuary.
Regardless of status, do not move in or out during prayer sessions and the sermon unless compelling circumstances involving a child require it. There should be no walking during prayer sessions.
Three elders prayer in the church is reserved for those who are anointed and should progress between them in ascending order.
There shall be no singing when you are asked to pray.
Musical instruments used for the glory of God are out of bounds to children.
There shall be a passable column between male and female members when thanksgiving offerings are brought before the Lord.
No food except water or fruit should be taken inside the sanctuary or altar. Eat or drink outside the altar of God.
Chewing gum is not permitted in the sanctuary.
Spraying or pasting money in the sanctuary is not permitted.
No praise-worship of an individual by the choir in the sanctuary is permitted.
Use of cell phones is prohibited in the sanctuary.
Jokes should be reserved for the end of the service and spiritual assignments, and must remain within Christian discipline.
There should be no talking or discussion while the service is in progress. Irrelevant conversations should not take place in the altar or sanctuary.
There should be no interruption or interjection during worship services. Compelling announcements or interjections should be reserved for announcements, thanksgiving offerings or after the service.
Members may be allowed in during the sermon by the warden or preacher.
Tattoos are not encouraged; earrings and the weaving of hair on men are discouraged.
Infighting is prohibited and the use of unpolished words is unacceptable in the sanctuary.
Complete reverence for the presence of God in the sanctuary is required at all times.

While in the church premises, female members are forbidden to:

Leave their heads uncovered.
Paint their lips and nails.

While in the church premises, male members are forbidden to:

Wear their hair too long.

Sanctification

Women need to be sanctified by an elder in the church after the seventh day of their monthly cycle.

Spiritual items: soap, water, sponge and a candlestick.

May the good Lord continue to guide and bless your household as you endeavour to make His Holy Sanctuary a place of reverence, honor and fear. He is, after all, the Almighty God.
